I got a pepper steak pie and sauce for $7.70+45c. That's 50% more than normal. The pastry was well cooked and the gravy tasted good. That was the problem. I only found 2 and a half pieces of meat in the pie! People had recommended the old store but this was the first chance I'd had to get to one. I won't be coming back at those prices.
I used to go to the Miami bake house when it was a humble little bakery in Miami and the pies were great and reasonably priced. Unfortunately expansion of the business has not improved their legacy.After not trying a pie from there for a while we decided to stop in.$7.70 for a pepper steak pie that has three pieces of meat in it and is nice but far from the best Ive had and a small coffee that is literally one mouthful is just pure greedy.After this visit I will not be going back to a place that is resting on the laurels of its previously good name.
Ordered 2 pies $18. Pies were good but not $9 each good. I appreciate the feedback and that they are made locally
Drove past a few times and today decided to stop in. Service was friendly and fast, which is a bonus given we had a flight to catch. Ordered the Seafood medley and Co-driver had the Classic Steak Pie. Pastry had a good consistency, wasn't too powdery and held together well. Portions of seafood were generous and didn't leave you feeling wanting. Sauce was hot, but not scolding. Would not recommend trying it with tomato sauce as it takes away from the flavours. Only downside was the sauce did still have a hint of thickening flour, but for under $10 this is not the hill I will die on. Overall I was satiated and gave the meal a respectable round of applause.
Good pies. Not great but better than the average pie. Seafood medley is a favourite and sells out pretty quickly. The pies used to be better before they expanded and only had the shop in Falcon. Some of the other pastries are pretty good too.
